This time of year it can be so easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the holidays. I have been there, I have let buying Christmas gifts be a stressor to me. There always seems to be that one person you have absolutely no idea what to gift. Often times I've thought about telling my family "We are not going to do gifts this year." but I fear I may seem cheap or sound "Scrooge-y"? I have had meltdowns while getting tangled in attempt to light the Christmas tree. I've stressed over the meals that I am making - will they accommodate food allergies? If I make substitutions, will it still taste good? Should I go with a traditional recipe and hope that I don't mess it up and offend Great Aunt Welma or should I stray and try something new from pinterest? Will it be the only dish that isn't wiped clean at the end of the meal? I won't even start in on talking about traveling during the holiday season.

Being a new mom, I wanted to put together a list of things that either I've used and loved or things that I've scoped out for myself this year. Here are 10 items that I've come up with to help you or someone you know as you cross "Christmas Shopping" off your list for the mommas in your life.

1.) This pajama set from Nordstrom reminds me of sipping hot chocolate by the crackling fire and eating santa's cookies one by one until they are all gone. I love the classic Christmas red but since I tend to be monochromatic in all that I do (my poor child may not know colors other than black, white, beige, and grey) I think I would chose the grey set for myself.

2.) These Zella high-waisted leggings have been amazing for me postpartum. They sit above my hips and my c-section scar where most other yoga pants sit right on or right above my scar and rub uncomfortably. I pair these with a nursing cami and a cozy cardigan or flannel shirt. I also have tested these during my workouts and they don't slide down and give you "poopy pants". Who has time to fuss with their clothing when all you are trying to do is get a workout in? This has been such a staple item for me postpartum!

3.) The new Fitbit Charge 2 is a great gift for new moms. This tracks your steps and gives you reminders to move to ensure you are getting enough activity throughout the day. It monitors your heart rate during workouts which I love. It comes in this gorgeous rose gold color. I have been all about rose gold this season. This particular Fitbit isn't water resistant but the Flex is. The flex just doesn't have the watch face to it. As a new mom, I like the idea of having something to keep me on top of my fitness and the watch is a nice feature when you are tending to baby and cannot be attached to your phone. Does anyone else struggle with a shortage of actual working clocks int heir home? Haha...I guess I've just relied on my phone for so long! If you are willing to spend more money, the new Apple Watch Series 2 is water resistant up to 50m and it comes it rose gold as well.

4.) This Bite Beauty Discovery Set from Sephora has all of the brands essentials - great for a new mom! For me, a splash of color on the lips goes a long way when you are getting out of the house and out of mombie mode. This set includes a great nude color for everyday wear and this gorgeous beet-colored lipstick great for the winter months. Speaking of winter, there is nothing that dries you out like this time of year and when you're nursing you get extremely dry. This kit also includes an agave lip mask and a lip primer to address any dry, cracked lips. Bite beauty products are free of gluten, parabens, phthalates, sulfates, and petrochemicals which makes me feel a little better about slabbing it all over my lips! These babies pack some major quality so really anything from the brand would be a great gift/stocking stuffer for mama's out there.

5.) These feather-lined booties are great for new moms! While on maternity leave, I have worn the grippy socks from the hospital because they are so comfortable and keep me from slipping on our tile floors. These socks serve as a fun alternative with different patterns and colors to choose from.

6.) I love using sugar scrubs in the shower. I feel my cleanest clean after giving myself a good scrub down, leaving my skin super soft. It's these small things that can really make you feel pretty. I love showering at night after my husband gets off of work because it is highly likely that I have baby poop, pee, or spit-up somewhere on myself from the day and also because the alone-time that I get in the shower after a long day of caring for the babes is like a little retreat...so why not make it feel luxurious? This Lush scrub has a great scent and is perfect for coffee-lovers! If you are looking for something a little more luxurious ($$), Sephora carries this Fresh Brown Sugar Scrub or this Josie Maran Argan Sugar Balm Scrub which both smell divine.

7.) This necklace from The Silver Wren on Etsy has not come off since I ordered it for my birthday and to celebrate Levi being born that same month. Rose gold has made a huge comeback and it doesn't clash too much with my other silver and gold jewelry - I tend to be a bit anal about that. She has silver and gold options as well. Her bar necklaces are hand stamped and I had a really great experience ordering from her shop! I chose to have my sons name stamped but I think a simple initial is also cute. If the person you are gifting this for has multiple children, she has cute options for that, too!

8.) This nail polish is life right now. I kid you not, once I put it on...it does NOT come off. I don't know what this magic is but I've only tried it with the color and the topcoat so I can't speak for each step on their own. I think they work together so, together it is! I have only had to take it off because my nails started growing out and my cuticles began to look jank long before my nails started to chip. When you have an infant around...you don't want to worry about constantly touching up your nails. So, do a momma in your life a favor and gift her these really great Essie Gel Couture nail polishes and you will be giving her the gift that keeps on giving because less time fussing over her appearance means more time for...SLEEP!

9.) The Blue Apron is a service that sends meals to your home with directions and all the ingredients you need. You can gift 1, 2, or 4 weeks worth of meals (3 meals a week, $9.99 per meal, per person). I think this is well worth it to gift a momma in your life. Gift-cards for places that do take-out are also a great option!

10.) Lastly, I have been researching this brand for quite some time and they have some awesome ingredient-conscious products! I think this Rosewater Face Mist from The Beauty Counter would be great for a pick-me-up spritz in the middle of the day. She can also use it to set her make-up and I bet the scent is divine!

I look forward to hearing from you guys some of your favorite things or gift ideas that you have for the people in your life. Remember, the best gift you can give this season is yourself...just spending time with friends, family, and loved ones and being present (no pun intended). Whether you will be surrounded by people this holiday season or completely alone, try doing something for someone in need. I think we can find the most fufillment in someone else's joy. Merry Christmas!

Courtney
